Child Trailer Product Safety Testing
Burley Trailers carry children, the most precious cargo. For this reason, all Burley child trailers are designed and tested to meet or exceed all relevant child trailer safety standards according to the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and the European Standard (EN). The current standards are the ASTM F1975-09 in the U.S. and internationally and the EN 15918 in Europe.
Restricted Substances
Burley selects only the finest materials for its trailers – non-toxic all-weather fabrics, UV protected windows, and durable anodized aluminum for its frames and hinges.
Our products have been tested by a third party and conform to the following standards:
- Phthalates: EC 1907/2006, REACH Annex XVII (formerly 2005/84/EEC)
- Lead: EN 71-3, CPSIA Section 101(a)(2), CPSC-CH-E1003-09, ASTM E1613, ASTM E1645
- PAHs: ZEK 01.2-08
eBike Recommendation
Our trailers are compatible with any eBike up to 25 kph (kilometers per hour) or 15 mph (miles per hour) as long as the trailer’s rated load capacity is not exceeded.
Manufacturing Policy
- Burley Design treats all employees, suppliers, and customers with dignity and respect.
- Our factories (currently located in China and the Philippines), pay fair wages, provide a safe working environment and provide time off as required. We do not work with production facilities that use child labor.
- We maintain a large inventory of replacement and warranty parts to keep our trailers on the road.
- We strive to reduce our environmental footprint. We reduce the environmental impact of our packaging by minimizing packaging materials and using earth-friendly products.
