Rated 5 out of 5 by darell from Sturdy, light and practical When my kid was growing up, we used a Burley to haul her everywhere. When it was time for cargo-hauling, I knew I wanted a Burley again, because of that great past experience. The only thing I'd improve is to have easier tie-down locations built-in. Or ways to add different carrying options to the system. I can make all of those modifications, but the product would be more user-friendly if this was included. For example, a front and rear rail would be fantastic to use when the cargo fits inside the trailer foot print. I have to make my own.

Rated 4 out of 5 by OnTheBounce from Just in Case Your Cargo Bike Can't Haul Enough About 3 months ago I bought a Burley Flatbed in order to expand my cargo bike's hauling capability. The first -- and probably best -- test of the Flatbed involved hauling old carpet to the landfill. The Flatbed withstood the whole ordeal with flying colors. Easy to clean and maintain and also very capable thanks to its low center of gravity it is definitely a worthwhile addition for cargo cyclists. In the cast of non-cargo bikes, it can handle heavier and bulkier loads than simple racks and bags.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JavaJam from A Dream Come True 4 Large Retired Hiking Woof I wanted a "cart" for my 14 year old wolf hybrid. At 70 pounds, she takes up more room than you would think. She needed to lay down comfortably in the cart. I wanted durable construction to survive her claws (although I added a pad for her comfort). I wanted wheels that could roll over most terrain (roads, gravel, dirt, streams). I wanted enough side wall to keep my woof in the cart and feel that she was safe, but allow her to see everything around her. I wanted a hitch to the bike that was an easy take on/take off. The hitch turned out to be a real seller for me, as sometimes my bike would fall over (when loading/unloading my woof), but the hitch was flexible, so the cart did not flip or tilt when the bike fell over. After the bike fell the first time, my woof was unfazed and did not move from her laying down position. The Burley Flatbed met all of my requirements. With my wolf-hybrid in the cart and myself pedaling to adventures unknown - Her last days were smiling and nose high in the air. Now, I use the cart for grocery/farmer's market shopping. Eventually, the dream road trip will utilize this amazing cart more efficiently.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Eero from It'll do more than you think it might could. Got this on a whim hoping it would help us get into work days quicker by not having to carry tools. It has surpassed our expectations overall. We did add a 3/4" PVC exoskeleton and cross members for the deck. The vinyl material would have been shredded the first time we used it, and it is due for an upgrade now. We're going to use hardware cloth which will evacuate debris from our tools and not rip apart from sharp edges like the cloth. I have hit lots of trees, overloaded it with big logs and rocks, and laid the bike over lots of times. It's still tuggin along. Maybe this design will be embraced in the next cargo trailer wherebyb the wheels are protected and the deck is more solid for tools and other implements. Tallyho!

Rated 5 out of 5 by BikerSnydley from Very versatile, multiple uses, multiple bikes! It was Flatbed vs. Nomad. Read other reviews and decided on Flatbed for its versatility and ease of transport and storage. Will be using it for 3 different bikes; 2-wheeled road touring, bikepacking, and my newest ride, a recumbent trike. I am using a large North Face base camp, waterproof duffle bag for all my camping gear. Still leaves room for smaller, narrower items such as compact camp chair, bear keg for food, etc. The two wheel design pulls easily, especially with the recumbent trike. Made one upgrade; switched to Schwalbe Marathon tires for better durability. Can easily change out my cargo bag for a medium sized cooler for hauling micro brews and brats for the weekend picnic. Overall, AWESOME TRAILER!

Rated 5 out of 5 by DALPZ from Tough Trailer! I have been using the Burley Flatbed to get myself and my hunting gear into a very remote hunting area that is closed off to motor vehicle traffic. The Flatbed easily carries all of my hunting gear and plenty of extra water. This trailer is still in excellent condition after towing it down miles of dirt roads, through creeks, sand, rocks, and mud. Although I did not put anything in my freezer this year, this trailer would have saved me from having to make multiple trips out of my remote hunting area. After the abuse this trailer took this year, I know that the Burley Flatbed is durable enough for 10+ years of this type of extreme treatment. When not in use for hunting, I use the trailer to haul my sister to and from the grocery store... we have exceeded the suggested weight limit on the trailer regularly and never once had a doubt on the Burley Flatbed!Great work Burley!

Rated 5 out of 5 by fdsa from Great lightweight trailer This is the lightest trailer you can currently buy for your bike, once you factor in the features of the side rails; add two 8' tiedowns and your around 13 pounds. I was worried about it being a fabric bottom, but it has held up dragging it over the briars through the woods. It is light enough to unhook and lift over obstacles with your gear still inside. The side rails are important to lash everything in securely, and I have carried 130 pounds with no problems. The whole thing packs down flat and stores nicely on top of a kayak.Things that could be better...I placed ducktape patches on the underside, between the mounts that hold the axle assembly, and the cloth material of the bottom of the trailer, to prevent wear at its greatest point. The hitch functions great, but a redesign with a ball hitch will pivot better for being pinched in between steep hills; this way the rubber hitch will not flex and break. Also, it needs a flag on the left side; the side closest to traffic passing you; so the constantly distracted drivers will see it flapping away. Now, offer it in a titanium version that weighs 6 pounds, for $400, and you will rule the bike trailer industry for awhile to come. Please ship me one for the idea. :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bern49 from Very useful I volunteer with the local forest preserve, and this trailer is great for hauling equipment to the work sites. It tows well fully loaded and can handle grass and limestone paths with no problem. The bottom is fabric so I added a heavy piece of cardboard to protect it from damage, and also a piece of pvc across the back. It's also very easy to store.
